Cottontail Crew 4-H Club
May Minutes


Committee Reports:
Booth Committee held a meeting at 10:30 a.m. prior to the May 16th regular club meeting.
Committee Chair, Keisha Sweinhagen reported a Hollywood them was chosen with ideas of film, cameras, hand prints. The slogan will be chosen at the next regular June meeting when everyone is present and is able to voice there opinion.
Jacob Buchholz reported everything is going well with the website. He handed out the website address so everyone could check it out. Also he collected everyone’s email address.

Old Business:
Members were reminded of QA dates, places and times. QA will be held at Tinora on May 20th from 3:30-5 p.m. Dog QA will be held on June 27, 2009 at the fair.
Central tagging is June 6th at the extension office from 7a-12 noon. Anyone taking and market animal or breeding animal to fair need to have the animal tagged. This would exclude Doe and Litter moms, meat pens, and breeding goats.

New Business:
Motion was put on the floor to decorate a flower bed at the fair. Keisha 1st the motion and Tiffany second the motion. In the month of May our club will be helping out with the flower beds at the fair. We have chosen the flag pole location and as soon as the electricity is taken care of we will create a flower bed around it for the season.
Advisors reminded everyone that if they have not started on their projects, they need to start. The advisors will be looking over your projects before judging. If anyone needs help with their projects or have any questions, please contact an advisor as soon as possible.

Demonstrations:
Tiffany Hogan demonstrated on the proper colors of clothing to wear. This was part of her project.

COTTONTAIL CREW 4-H CLUB
April Minutes

Roll Call was read and those who were absent were Kalee Sweinhagen, Amber and Kayla Andrist. Total of 4 advisors,parents and 10 members were present.
The pledge of allegiance was led by Brittani Kuhlman and the 4-H pledge was led by Daniel Holifield.
Treasurer report was read and approved.

Old Business:
The advisors thanked all members and parents for being on their best behavior during our get together at East of Chicago Pizza and Holiday Lanes. Everyone represented their club well.
The March 30th officer training went well and every officer attended. Also a BIG thank you to Jacob Buchholz who will be our Communications Officer this year. He will be updating our website monthly. Everyone is encouraged to check it out.
All members were reminded of the upcoming QA clinic and also it was strongly suggested that members taking animal projects make it a point to attend the livestock feed clinic.
Discussion was brought up about a location for the June meeting. It was decided that it will be held on June 20th at 11am at the Shinninger residence on Limbaugh Road. Directions will be available at the May meeting for anyone needing them.

New Business:
2009 4-H Booth- Booth committee was formed. Keisha Sweinhagen was nominated committee chair and Tiffany Hogan was nominated co-chair. The committee will be the entire club. The booth committee will hold its first meeting at 10:30am May 16th at the OSU Extension office. This is ½ hour prior to the regular club meeting. They will report on the booth ideas then.
On May 4, 2009 BW3 will be offering an Eat Wings, Raise Funds night. From 5-9:00 p.m. you can enjoy anything on the menu and 10% of our purchase will go to the Defiance County Ag Society. The advisors passed out flyers and reminded everyone that they need to put the clubs name on the flyer and present it when you order.

Demonstrations:

Refreshments were provided by Brittani and Logan.
The next meeting will be held on June 20, 2009 at Tiffany and Tyler Hogan’s house on Limbaugh Road at 11am.

Keisha Sweinhagen demonstrated baton twirling. She showed members how several different tosses with a baton.
Logan Hannenkratt demonstrated his remote control cars and how he rebuilt one of them. The car was part of his project.

The next meeting will be held at 11 a.m. May 16 at the OSU Extension Office. A committee meeting will be held at 10:30 a.m. May 16th at the OSU Extension Office. Refreshments were provided by the Holifield family. Recreation was provided by Logan Hannenkratt and bingo was played with prizes.
Brittani Kuhlman made a motion for adjournment. Logan Hannenkrat seconds the motion. Meeting adjourned.
